Stuart Millar, the former Clyde manager, has been appointed West Bromwich Albion's chief scout in Scotland.

The 49-year-old had performed a similar role for Ross County before stepping down from his position following the sacking of Derek and George Adams in August.

Millar - a former winger at clubs such as Airdrieonians, Montrose and Dumbarton - has not had long to wait to return to the game.

"I was recommended to them and after a discussion with their head of scouting, Stuart White, I was delighted to start my new role at the weekend," he said.

"I took in the Hearts and Dumbarton game before going to Livingston and Hibs so it has been a flying start."
