THE Scottish Premier League will meet this coming Monday to decide whether Dundee or Dunfermline Athletic will take the place of Club 12 in this year's fixture lists.
The demise of Rangers has created an immediate vacancy in the top flight, and as there currently is no rule in place to govern such a scenario, the 11 remaining SPL clubs will almost certainly conduct a simple vote to decide whether to admit the Dens Park club, who finished second in last year's Irn-Bru First Division, or Dunfermline, whose SPL share transferred to Ross County upon relegation last season. All this, of course, is assuming that the Scottish Football League clubs vote to formally approve the resignation of either club at their special general meeting tomorrow.
