Morton have become the latest Scottish Football League club to state their intention to vote against any proposal to allow a Rangers newco to start out in the Irn-Bru first division.
Last week Douglas Rae, the club's chairman, told Herald Sport he would welcome the club into the league.
However, Rae yesterday went against that assertion, revealing that he would vote to force a newco to start in the third division instead. He joins Raith Rovers, Falkirk and Peterhead as SFL clubs that object to the idea of a new club starting out in a higher league.
