STEVEN NAISMITH moved to Everton on the advice of his former Rangers team-mates David Weir and Nikica Jelavic, but the key influence was the chance to work with their Scottish manager, David Moyes, the forward said yesterday.

Naismith signed a four-year contract as a free agent after he refused to have his registration transferred to Rangers newco. He believes his best years will now be played out in what he called "the best league in the world".
