Ernie Els will look to feed off the confidence generated by his return to form when he bids for a record-equalling third Scottish Open title at Castle Stuart next month, writes Kevin Ferrie.

The South African, whose entry was announced yesterday, has had some of the greatest days of his career in Scotland, winning the Open Championship at Muirfield in 2002 on top of his successes at Loch Lomond in 2000 and 2003.
