Charlotte Dujardin joined an exclusive club of double British Olympic champions yesterday by dancing to glory in the dressage at Greenwich Park aboard the brilliant Valegro in an emotion-charged musical freestyle routine.

The 27-year-old's team gold colleagues, Laura Bechtolsheimer and Carl Hester, were not far behind her, with Bechtolsheimer taking bronze and Hester finishing fifth. It gave GB a record haul of five equestrian medals for one Olympics, following dressage and showjumping team gold and eventing team silver.
