Britain's Ed McKeever said he finally deserves comparisons with the fastest man in the world after winning gold in the 200m sprint kayak.

The 28-year-old had previously been dismissive of his nickname "the Usain Bolt of the water", claiming it was undeserved, but after winning gold at Eton Dorney in front of Prime Minister David Cameron, the trainee accountant from Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire, said he was now willing to accept comparisons with the Jamaican sprinter.
