Scottish Swimming is keen to use Olympic success to strengthen its campaign to get every school pupil in the country into the water.

No fewer than six Scots will be in the pool at London 2012, with five more set to take part in the Paralympics, and hopes are high that they will achieve their publicly-stated objective of winning a long overdue Olympic medal. No Scot has won one since 1996 and no Scottish woman since 1956, but following the Scottish team's successes at the last two Commonwealth Games the stakes have been raised.
