ELEVEN British athletes made last-ditch bids for Olympic inclusion, but only one has succeeded – 800 metres runner Gareth Warburton.
The British Olympic Association confirmed his addition to the 2012 team "following an appeal against his non-selection". This means that three challenges against Scotland's European silver medallist Lynsey Sharp were among 10 thrown out. The final track and field squad is 77 strong, and Team GB now has 542 competitors from 26 sports.
