Scottish fencer Keith Cook has decided to take legal action over his exclusion from Britain's Olympic squad.

Cook claims "multiple breaches" of the Olympic selection policy were made in his case and is to be represented by Simon Smith, a partner in defamation, media and reputation management specialists PSB Law.

"I am determined that no-one else should go through this totally dispiriting experience – most of all the amazing children and young people I coach," said the 31-year-old yesterday. "I've been so let down by my governing body. They've even claimed they didn't know I wanted to be considered for the Olympics."
