Dario Franchitti has refused to give up on another IndyCar title despite needing a win in Toronto tomorrow to stay in the hunt, writes Kenneth Stephen.
The Scot, who has suffered all manner of misfortune in his Ganassi this term, sits 70 points behind Penske's Will Power in the rankings with time beginning to run out.
Franchitti knows he needs a repeat of last year's victory at the street circuit – he has won three times in the Canadian city in all – if he is to eat into Power's lead and give himself a chance in the run-in. He believes that is not beyond him and admits he is surprised to still be in contention.
