Bristol yesterday signed two Scottish players as they stepped up preparations for a return to the English top flight.
The coach, Liam Middleton, has lured veteran prop Bruce Douglas from Worcester and ex-Borders centre Bryan Rennie from Exeter.
Bristol have earmarked the tough-tackling Rennie as a crucial figure in their midfield when they return to the Premiership and beat off the challenge of several other leading Premiership clubs and French sides to land the A internationalist.
