Kelly Brown, the Scotland captain-elect who missed out on the entire RBS 6 Nations campaign, has taken a significant step on his road to recovery from long-term injury.

The breakaway forward has not played since he suffered a dislocated shin two days before he was to be named Scotland captain for the Six Nations, but he has now returned to training with Saracens and aims to be fit for the start of their Aviva Premiership campaign.
