When compiling the list of the greatest games in which he played, Chris Cusiter is never going to place his performance against Treviso on Sunday anywhere near the top.

But in the catalogue of great team performances he was involved in, it will unquestionably be up there with the best.

Glasgow's 13-8 victory in the Stadio di Monogo was rarely easy on the eye, but it was dogged, determined and driven by a fierce will to succeed. The very qualities, in fact, that Cusiter himself embodied when he first emerged in the struggling Border Reivers side of almost a decade ago. The Reivers disintegrated in 2007 and Cusiter headed off to join Perpignan in France, but Sunday's win in Italy more than justified his decision to return to the country of his birth two years later.
