Greig Laidlaw has called on his fellow Borderers to set past grievances aside and follow him to the capital on Sunday to support his Edinburgh team's attempt to bring Heineken Cup knockout rugby to Scotland.

The Edinburgh club captain, nephew of the former international captain, Roy Laidlaw, has led their European campaign with a combination of cool-headed leadership and nerveless goal-kicking. Other key members of his team include Chris Paterson, a member of another of the Borders' most famous rugby families, who recently retired from Test rugby as Scotland's record cap winner and points scorer, and Kelso's Ross Ford, Scotland's hooker, who travels up the A7 with Laidlaw every day.
