BRYAN Redpath was a contented figure afterwards, certainly more so than former Scotland team-mate Gregor Townsend.
Neither coach was reading too much into a match in which the English Premiership's Sale Sharks won by seven tries to three, though.
This was, after all, little more than a pre-season run-out, a time to assess progress thus far in what is for both coaches a first season in charge of a new team. Clearly, both have a way to go in getting their teams playing as they would wish.
