Scotland’s largest credit union has announced a record payout for savers who hold a dedicated Christmas account.
Scotwest, which offers members the opportunity to prepare for the festive season through regular payments or a deduction from their wages, has paid out £919,722.
The credit union, which has over 26,000 members, runs its Christmas savings account from the middle of November each year until the middle of November the following year, when savers receive a sum to fund their Christmas spending.
