BILLY Lamont is back in charge of Dumbarton. His appointment comes

just four days after he was sacked by Falkirk and after the dismissal

yesterday of Jim George at Boghead.

Lamont will bring with him as his assistant Billy Simpson, who has now

left Alloa, and it means that the management team who took Dumbarton to

the premier division in season 1983-84 are now back in control.

George was naturally disappointed by his dismissal but Dumbarton see

Lamont as an ''astute manager'' and wanted him in position to assess the

playing staff before next season.

The new manager will be in charge of the Dumbarton team tonight

against Arbroath, who sacked John Young as manager on Saturday.
