Forfar 0, Alloa 1

ROY of the Rovers could not have scripted it better for Alloa's Willie Irvine.

The prison warden capped his first game since having been taken hostage during a recent prison disturbance with a late winner for the Wasps. He played well, culminating in his headed winner after 87th minute header, which sent the veciforous visiting support delirious.

He showed great vision to coolly head into an empty net after Forfar keeper John Donegan made a mess of a punched clearance when he needlessly came for a high cross. Irvine made no mistake.

Forfar were left to rue a series of missed first-half opportunities.

McAneny had the ball in the net for Alloa in the 29th minute, but it was chalked off for a foul on the Forfar keeper.

The longer the match went on, the more it looked not to be Forfar's night, but they could not believe their luck when Irvine saw a good angle shot rebound off the foot of the post and into Donegans arms. However, Irvine had the last laugh with his late winner.
