TWIN sisters Lorraine and Levinia Christmas were recovering in

hospital yesterday after a unusual seasonal bash.

They crashed on an icy road, into each other's cars.

The 31-year-old sisters ran into each other on a single-track country

lane at Flitcham, Norfolk, on Saturday morning.

They were being treated for whiplash injuries and concussion at Queen

Elizabeth Hospital, King's Lynn, yesterday.

A spokeswoman at the hospital said: ''I can confirm that we have two

sisters by the name of Christmas and both are comfortable.''

Sergeant Dick Davis, of King's Lynn police, said: ''The accident

happened at 10.20am on Christmas Eve.

''Lorraine was in a red Montego and her sister was driving a Vauxhall

Astra. Apparently they collided head-on on a single track road in icy

conditions.''

He said the sisters lived locally in different villages.

Police could not confirm a report that the crash happened as Levinia

was on her way to take over from Lorraine at the petrol station where

both worked.
