Two men have been arrested in connection with the alleged theft of money from a public fountain.

Police went to Court Street in Haddington, East Lothian at around 2.40am yesterday following reports that people were standing in the water feature removing coins.

Lothian and Borders Police said that almost £29 in change was recovered and returned to the fountain.

Two men aged 21 and 24 are due to appear in court at a later date.
