George Galloway has sent his 90,000 Twitter followers a picture of himself and his 27-year-old fourth wife from Indonesia.

The Respect MP, aged 57, who has been embroiled in recent rows over rape consent and then a Twitter message when he called a Rangers fan "a windae licker", posted the image above.

The messaged read: Me and my wife Gayatri at work after #Jakarta wedding reception 26.8.12 (pic by Asri)

Earlier this week, in his tabloid newspaper column, Galloway, told readers: "I'm in Jakarta just now on the Indonesian leg of my nuptials, doing it in traditional Javanese style. More than 200 guests turned up at the ceremony, including prominent politicians, journalists and religious leaders. And...my bride Gayatri was radiant."

Galloway married Putri Gayatri Pertiwi in April, soon after his shock by-election victory in Bradford West.

Earlier this year, his third wife gave birth to the couple’s second child, and Gayatri is two years younger than his first born, Lucy, who has already made the politician a grandfather twice.

Her mother, Elaine Fyffe, was Galloway’s childhood sweetheart and first wife. His second marriage was to Palestinian scientist Dr Amineh Abu-Zayyad, who said that the relationship broke down irretrievably because his ''friendships’’ with other women had left her depressed.

He then married and divorced his third wife and former researcher Rima Husseini.

Gayatri is understood to be an anthropologist of Indonesian background who lived in Amsterdam. Like his two last wives, she is a Muslim, and met the MP through his Viva Palestina charity.
