TWO partners at a firm of solicitors have been suspended from practice amid concerns over the company's financial affairs.

An investigation is under way at Alder Hogg and Co in Kirkintilloch, East Dunbartonshire, following issues raised by a routine inspection by the Law Society of Scotland.

Solicitor partners Philip Hogg and Alison Greer have had their practising certificates suspended after an interim judicial factor Morna Grandison was appointed by the Court of Session to run the business on a temporary basis and probe the company's financial state.

The move comes after the closure of solicitor's firm Ross Harper earlier this year after the appointment of a judicial factor.

Thousands of people are understood to have been owed money by the company after its accounts were frozen amid allegations of financial irregularities.
