A CYCLIST who died after being knocked off his bike at a busy ring road roundabout has been named by police.

Michael Robertson, 40, is thought to have been on his way home from work when the accident happened in Anderson Drive, Aberdeen, on Tuesday night.

Paramedics rushed to the scene but could not save the cyclist. The driver of the lorry involved in the collision was uninjured.

Mr Robertson was yesterday described as a devoted family man and lifelong fan of Aberdeen FC.

The road was closed for seven hours as investigators examined the scene, at the junction with King's Gate.
