SIR David Murray's lawyers have asked the Crown Office to launch a criminal investigation after confidential details of his tax affairs were made public.
The former Rangers chairman instructed Levy & McRae to lodge a complaint with the Crown Office.
Peter Watson, the firm's senior partner, said: "Sir David regards such information as private and confidential and the publication of such information as unlawful."
Sir David last week defeated Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs in its £46 million "Big Tax Case".
A tax tribunal ruled that Employee Benefit Trusts used to pay players and other staff were legal.
