SIX men have appeared in court charged with alleged criminal behaviour during a match between Celtic and Hearts at Edinburgh's Tynecastle stadium on Wednesday night.

Dylan Connell, 17, and David Thomson, 17, both of Glasgow, denied repeatedly shouting and chanting religiously offensive comments and support for a terrorist organisation.

Thomas Spence, 30, of, Edinburgh, Colin Turnbull, 41, of Armadale, West Lothian, and Robert Rudkin, 43, from Ormiston, Midlothian, all denied making religiously offensive remarks.

Dale Chambers, 17, of Edinburgh, denied one charge of repeatedly shouting religiously offensive remarks. He also denied a charge of perverting the course of justice.

Sheriff Nigel Morrison, QC, at Edinburgh Sheriff Court granted the men bail on condition they did not attend any professional football match.
