Drugs worth more than £250,000 were seized in raids at the weekend.

Three men were arrested in Kilmarnock in connection with the discovery of cannabis plants with an estimated value of £290,000.

The men, aged 24, 31 and 37 were detained after the operation on Saturday in Titchfield Street, Strathclyde Police said.

Meanwhile, five people were arrested in connection with a raid in Fraserburgh on Friday.

Drugs worth about £8200 were seized, Grampian Police said.

Officers arrested two men from Liverpool aged 18 and 27, as well as a 47-year-old woman and two men, aged 41 and 21, from Fraserburgh.
