Cold rolled by the not-so-old
SCHOOL were closed yesterday in Peebles due to heavy snow but children in the town made the most of the sunshine and crisp air to have fun creating giant snowballs.
West Lothian pensioner Les Smith tackled snow-covered ground at Beecraigs Country Park on a brisk walk, and drivers in Bannockburn cleared snow from their cars as snowfall and sleet hit many parts of Scotland.
The heaviest falls were over higher ground. More freezing weather was predicted last night and frosts are likely to continue for the next few days.
