A HOSPITAL has been told to review the numbers of showers available after inspectors recorded more than 20 patients waiting to use two cubicles.

Dundee's Ninewells Hospital has been given a favourable review by inspectors but bosses should review the provision of showers, a report said.

NHS Tayside is making "good progress" with efforts to protect patients from infections, the Healthcare Environment Inspectorate said. Inspectors said wards were clean and well maintained, staff are appropriately dressed and have good access to advice from the infection control team.

However, in one ward, staff reported difficulties in cleaning the two showers provided for its 21 patients due to their high usage.
