Revellers attending Glasgow's Hogmanay celebrations in George Square will be able to catch the city's Subway and be home in time to see in the New Year.

Hogmanayday will be a free, day-long celebration for all the family. From noon until 10pm, people can get into the party spirit with ceilidh dancing around the square to music from the likes of Skippinish, Drums and Roses and the Williamwood Pipe Band. The Subway will stay open until 10.30pm.

Traditional Scottish produce will be on offer, as well as family-friendly activities such as storytelling and arts and crafts. No ticket is required, but a queuing system will operate if the venue reaches capacity.

Already preparing to celebrate are, from left, Jock Ferguson, Sarah Stirling, Colette Black and Iain Melvin.
