A man has appeared in court charged with murder.

Michael Geddes, 35, appeared at Peterhead Sheriff Court over the death of Aaron Arthur in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire.

The body of the 31-year-old was found at about 2.30am on Monday at an address in the Longate area.

His family described Aaron, the youngest of eight siblings, as a "lovable rogue" whose death had caused deep sadness.

In a statement issued by Grampian Police, relatives said: "A much-loved son and uncle, he will be missed by his mother, five brothers and two sisters."

Geddes, from Peterhead, made no plea or declaration and was remanded.
