THREE men convicted of a brutal attack that left an elderly businessman looking like "the Elephant Man" have been jailed for almost 20 years.

Brian Kennedy, 31, Paul Breslin, 41, and Ian Oliver, 26, were found guilty of assaulting Alexander Ormiston, 63, to his severe injury at his home in Rosyth, Fife, on May 19, 2011.

Mr Ormistoon died in hospital on June 3, 2011. Yesterday at the High Court in Glasgow, Judge Lord Pentland jailed Kennedy for five years and six months, Breslin for six years and Oliver for eight years.

The court heard at the time Kennedy was suing Mr Ormiston in the civil courts for £80,000.

Mr Ormiston was abducted and forced to go to his bank and withdraw £5000. The next day at work his face was "black and blue".

All three were cleared of killing Mr Ormiston but were convicted of the reduced charge of assault to severe injury.
