A STAINED glass tribute to one of the most influential members of Scottish civic society has been hung at Glasgow's historic Art Club.

The work by Anne Ferguson marks the contribution of Lord Macfarlane of Bearsden to cultural, business and sporting institutions. It features images representing the Order of the Thistle, as well as Lord Macfarlane's business interests, including Johnnie Walker, Clansman, Guinness and Glasgow University.

There is a prominent image of the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, for which Lord Macfarlane, 86, led a successful fundraising campaign, plus symbols relating to Glasgow Life, the National Galleries of Scotland, Queens Park FC, Scottish Ballet and the Fine Art Society, among many others.
