A LAWYER is to stand trial charged with being concerned in the supply of cannabis.

Gerard Nesbitt, 53, yesterday appeared for a preliminary hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.

The offence is said to have occurred in May last year at a number of addresses in the city.

Nesbitt, of Newlands, Glasgow, denies the charge.

Co-accused Iain McKenzie, 38, of Carntyne, also faces the same allegation as well as an accusation he was concerned in the supply of cocaine and another charge of possessing amphetamine.

McKenzie also denies the accusations.

Judge Lord Turnbull set a trial due to begin in April.
