THE body of an angler who went missing while on a camping trip with his father last week has been found, police said yesterday.

Michael Pringle, 25, from Kilmarnock, had set up camp for a weekend's pike fishing on the shores of Loch Awe, near Kilchurn Castle, in Argyll.

He went missing in the early hours of Sunday February 3 after going for a drink in a local pub with his father. The men left together but later became separated.

Police divers recovered his body from River Orchy, between Kilchurn Castle and the village of Loch Awe at lunchtime on Saturday.

Strathclyde Police said there appeared to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, but a post-mortem would be carried out in due course.
