A WOMAN who killed her partner amid claims he subjected her to regular domestic abuse has been jailed for almost four years.

Natalie Scott, 26, hit James Dornan with a wine glass after he attacked her in March last year.

Dornan, 33 – a serial criminal with a conviction for violence – was discovered dead in the flat in Stirling the next morning.

Scott was later arrested and revealed how her 18-month relationship had involved "physical and mental" abuse by Dornan.

Scott – who had faced a murder accusation – yesterday returned to the High Court in Glasgow after admitting to a charge of culpable homicide.

Lord Turnbull said it was a "tragic case", but that Scott must take responsibility for the death.
