Education links with China have been strengthened through the signing of three agreements involving Scottish organisations.

Chinese students will be offered scholarships through a deal with Glasgow University in a joint project in Chengdu, which should create up to 15 jobs, split between Glasgow and China.

Up to 90 scholarships will be offered to Chinese students in Chengdu, including 10 affected by the deadly Sichuan earthquake.

A second agreement, between Dingwall-based TEFL Scotland and Chinese online training company Zhi Bo Hong Yuan, should lead to 10 new jobs in the Highland town, while a third link sees the launch of a new training programme offered by Scotland's Rural College Elmwood Golf International.

The agreements were announced by External Affairs Minister Humza Yousaf, who said they are worth about £2 million to the Scottish economy over three years.
