The unexplained death of a man whose body was found in his home is being investigated by police.

The 31-year-old was discovered dead at 8.30am yesterday at an address in Station Road in the Brightons area of Polmont, near Falkirk in central Scotland, police said.

It is understood that the man's name was Martin McAllister.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police in Forth Valley division are investigating following after a 31-year-old man was found dead within his home address in Station Road, Brightons on Tuesday October 1.

"Inquiries to establish the man's previous movements will result in police activity within the Brightons area and the local community is thanked for their co-operation and support.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course."
