A POLICEMAN has appeared in court charged with sexually assaulting two women in a work building.
Gavin Angus allegedly sexually assaulted the women on various occasions at the police headquarters building in Aberdeen.
The 41-year-old is claimed to have touched both women inappropriately by repeatedly leaning across them and causing their bodies to touch.
He is said to have sat so close to the alleged victims that his leg, shoulder or arm touched their bodies, repeatedly touching them on the body without their consent.
The serving police constable is alleged to have seized hold of one of the women, who cannot be named, and handled her body.
She is claimed to have been sexually assaulted at the Queen Street headquarters and elsewhere on various occasions between August 22, 2011 and March 31 the following year. Mr Angus is also alleged to have seized and handled the second woman's breast over her clothing.
The sexual assaults against her are claimed to have taken place between June 14 and August 31 in 2012.
Mr Angus, whose address was given in court papers as the Police Scotland headquarters in Aberdeen, appeared at the city court yesterday.
He denied two charges of sexual assault and his case was continued to trial next month.
Last night a Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that a serving officer appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on 7 January 2014 in relation to two assaults.
"As the matter is the subject of live court proceedings it would be inappropriate for the force to comment further at this stage."
