SCOTTISH Makar Liz Lochhead has written a piece to be performed during a Burns Night being held to raise money for a children's book for those whose older siblings have died.

The poet has joined forces with singer Frances Thorburn for the work, while actor Ken Stott will deliver the Selkirk Grace at Guy's Charity Burns Night at SWG3 in Glasgow on January 25.

The event is being held to support the Scottish Cot Death Trust's attempt to publish a book to help parents talk to youngsters about the brothers or sisters they never knew.

It is being organised by actor Iain Robertson, an ambassador for the charity. His older sister died of cot death before he was born.
