NO failings have been found in relation to a bus company whose coach ploughed into a river in 2010, while it was taking school pupils on a trip to Alton Towers, killing a teenage girl.

Traffic Commissioner for Scotland, Joan Aitken, concluded that there was no evidence Carluke-based Photoflash Services was at fault in the lead up to the crash.

The tribunal in Edinburgh heard that the company's maintenance standards and records of driver duties were satisfactory.

Natasha Paton, 17, from Lanark Grammar School, died when the bus crashed into a bridge on the A73 near Biggar and rolled down an embankment into a river.

A fatal accident inquiry blamed driver Raymond Munro, ruling that he drove at an excessive speed for the poor weather conditions.
