The Beatles' historic touchdown at JFK Airport in New York is to be restaged to mark the 50th anniversary of the band's first US visit, in an effort to boost tourism.
Government officials from UK Trade & Investment and tourism agency VisitBritain will accompany tribute band The Cavern City Beatles as they restage the event next month.
The Fab Four were greeted by thousands of hysterical fans when they made their appearance at the airport on February 7 1964, stepping down from a Pan Am flight, and two days later took part in a celebrated broadcast of the Ed Sullivan Show which made them a national sensation.
The lookalike band will appear at the airport 50 years later, to the day, before playing a series of US dates. The delegation - which also includes figures from Liverpool City Council and John Lennon's half-sister Julia Baird - will be trying to encourage US fans to visit Liverpool.
Ms Baird said: "The pivotal role that The Beatles continue to play in the tourism and culture sector of the local economy cannot be under-estimated. It has led to the resurgence of the city's economy and it will continue to do so."
