Police are treating the sudden death of a young woman as unexplained.

The body of a 26-year-old woman was found in the Walker Road area of Aberdeen at about 11.40am on Monday.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.

"As with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."

There is nothing to suggest any suspicious circumstances and police are working to contact next of kin.
