SYRIAN peace talks being held in Geneva have broken up early.
Yesterday's planned afternoon session failed to go ahead in order to give the government delegation time to come up with a proposal on the future of the country, an opposition spokesman said.
Earlier the talks had hit an impasse over the formation of a transitional administration.
UN mediator Lakhdar Brahimi admitted the negotiations "haven't produced much" as yet.
There has still been no breakthrough on the issue of getting aid to those remaining in the city of Homs despite an agreeement to allow women and children to leave the besieged city.
The UN is ready to deliver a month of rations to the city for 2500 people once it gets a green light from all sides,
