The death of a man in his own home is being treated as suspicious, police say.

Angus McKechnie, 31, was found dead at his home in James Street, Whins of Milton, near Bannockburn, at around 10.30am yesterday.

Officers went to the property after concerns that Mr McKechnie, who was known as Ryan, had not been seen for around three days.

His body was found inside and an investigation launched.

Detective Chief Inspector Gary Cunningham, from the major investigation team, said: "We are still trying to establish the full circumstances surrounding Ryan's death, which, at this time, is being treated as suspicious.

"As such, we are asking anyone who remembers seeing or hearing anything untoward in or around James Street in the past few days to contact police immediately.

"Anyone with any further information relevant to our investigation is also asked to get in touch."

Witnesses can contact Police Scotland on 101 or the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
