The introduction of quotas for women on boards may act as a catalyst for companies to focus on the career development of women at an earlier stage, to ensure they have a pipeline of executives at senior level, and I would definitely support this.

However, I think quotas would only address some of the issues. Women often make up less than 20% of graduates from computer science and engineering courses and these are key knowledge areas for the future. Girls should be encouraged more in these areas in order to achieve further equality in the boardroom in the long run. Women need to have to the skills that match market demands.
