Inverness have suspended youth-team defender Joe Gorman after he allegedly posted an offensive sectarian comment on Twitter.

The message appeared on the 19-year-old Irishman's account on Tuesday night.

It apparently referring to Ross Kemp's Extreme World programme broadcast on Sky One, which focused on disorder in north Belfast and dissident republican activity in Londonderry.

It read: "Ross kemp in Belfast talking about the troubles. Wouldn't you just love to open up on all them orange men."

The tweet was later removed and the player's account deactivated but Inverness have now confirmed they have suspended former Republic of Ireland youth international Gorman while they carry out an investigation.

Caley Thistle club Chairman Kenny Cameron said: "As soon as we were made aware of the allegations, and following a discussion with the player, we can confirm that he has been suspended by the club pending an internal disciplinary investigation."

Gorman signed for Inverness on a free transfer from Crewe in June.
