A TUG-OF-WAR was held on Edinburgh's Royal Mile between those chosen to front the Homecoming Scotland 2014 tourism campaign.

A Gaelic singer, a re-enactor of medieval battles and the director of Festivals Edinburgh were among those who took part in the event.

A total of 23 Meet the Scots ambassadors from across Scotland and will be encouraging overseas visitors to "feel the pull" of the country in the year in which it welcomes the world. The £1.7 million promotion targets potential visitors in Europe and the US.
