Four people have been arrested and drugs and weapons seized in police raids on organised crime.

Officers searched three properties during a two-day operation in Edinburgh this week.

Heroin and cannabis were recovered from two addresses in Bingham Medway with two people arrested. A 48-year-old man was charged with drug offences and a 26-year-old man was found to be in possession of an offensive weapon and in breach of bail, police said.

A 38-year-old female was also reported to the procurator fiscal over drug offences.

Two other men, aged 34 and 37, were also arrested during the operation for breaching bail.

Detective Inspector Stuart Harkness said: "Police Scotland continues to take all steps to target and disrupt those involved in Serious and Organised Crime.

"The message is clear we will target all of those involved, from the person at the top of the group right down to the group members who assist in that operation.

"In order to do this we need the help of those in the community who can supply us with the intelligence that allows us to conduct targeted policing operations.

"I would appeal to anyone with information in relation to crime in their area to speak to their local community police officer, contact police on 101 or alternatively they can provide that information in complete anonymity through the registered charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
