TWO teenagers have been apprehended by police and three stolen vehicles recovered after residents raised the alarm about suspicious activity.

Two youngsters, aged 14 and 16, were apprehended by officers.

People living in the Bridge of Don area in Aberdeen were told to lock their homes and keep their vehicles' car keys out of sight as officers launched an investigation, with around half a dozen police cars being deployed to the scene.

Police said that as a result of a housebreaking and a number of sneak-in thefts, three cars were stolen.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Officers responded to reports of persons behaving suspiciously in the Bridge of Don and, working with information from members of the public, have been successful in recovering the cars and apprehending [two suspects]."
